We encourage our dresses to be worn not just for Sunday-best but for everyday wear, too. We like Poppy girls to get as much wear out of their favourite Poppy dresses as possible, so we have designed the Alice dress to start off below the knee with plenty of room around the waist for a little growth. The little sash at the back allows the dress to be pulled or loosened. Poppy designs special dresses for little girls. Each dress comes with a little story book telling of the adventures of a little girl called Poppy and her dog, Fred.

Put one of our cardigans over the top to keep that winter chill away and make an outfit. The Martha dress, like many of our dresses, is made wide to accommodate all waist sizes and then pulls in to fit around the waist with a simple sash to give a pretty shape. This is a lovely, traditional baby dress, made from our autumn-winter cotton twill. The Maisy dress buttons down the front so the buttons don't dig in while babies are lying on their backs, and we make them deliberately short so they do not get in the way while they learn to walk. A lovely special occasion baby dress, there is ample room under the arms to allow for growth, so babygrows and T-shirts can be worn underneath. Put cream or red tights underneath to complete this outfit. A storybook comes with the dress, telling the latest adventures of Poppy and Fred. Nearly all of our clothing is made in the UK. Designed to go under our dresses, these petticoats are also great on their own, or as a little tutu or skirt. Our dresses are quite long, so buy big rather than small if you would like them to go underneath the dresses, or small if you prefer the idea of them being a little tutu. Each petticoat has a big sash on the front. Along with the elasticated waist, this helps to pull it in to fit any size child. These petticoats are soft and full.Great fun and easy to wear, they make a great dress into a brilliant dress. There are not many left, so be quick if you would like one!

This knitted coat by Poppy is hand knitted in 100% cotton, machine washable and suitable for any climate. It looks great over one of Poppy’s dresses! We like Poppy girls to get as much wear as possible out of their Poppy clothes, so we have designed this coat to begin long, made with plenty of room around the waist and extra length in the arms (that are designed to be turned up) so as the child grows, the coat turns into a long knitted cardigan. Our knitwear is made under the guidelines of Fair Trade, high up in the Himalayas and we provide a valuable source of income for women who work at home while bringing up their children. This is generous, especially in the larger sizes, so you don't need to buy big.

We made this originally as a dress, but many of our customers say they use it as a coat. So you can use it for either. There is ample room to fit things underneath or wear just with a t-shirt and tights. Made from thick soft corduroy, it feels gorgeous. Fred from our story books runs around the hem. This is any girl's dream party dress. Made from our lovely 100% cotton twill, the fabric is a heavier weight than the summer cotton. Made from two half circles, just like the great 50s dresses, it is great for twizzling. Each Rosa dress comes with a sewn-in cotton voile petticoat to give a double layered look. It is designed to sit just below the knee and has a sash at the back so that the dress actually starts off wide and pulls in to fit, which makes sure that it will fit for longer than just one season.For extra good twirling, try putting one of our petticoats undreneath ... they make this dress look great !
