We call this the zig zag cardigan. A lovely vintage style hand knit which will look up to date on both boys and girls. Great on it's own but also made to go over the top of our tank tops to make up a little twin set. Poppy's lovely handknits are made from 100% cotton and are knitted high in the Himalayas close to Kathmandu by women working from home. The cardigans will wear well over our dresses and look lovely with mitts, berets and scarves to match.

We design the fabric ourselves, print it here in the North West and sew them up in North Yorkshire, this way you know your getting something truly British. Little girls just love little bags and it is the perfect way to finish off an outfit. A great place to put spare shoes, pens and pencils and of course one of our colouring books to match. We have designed the bags to take the storybook, colouring book and a set of colour-in cards to make a lovely and unusual present to occupy little hands and minds.

When I designed the fabric Poppy and Fred. I thought it would be great to write a story to go with it. In fact the story was already there in my head and it seemed only right to share it. Each fabric has it's own story and Poppy and Fred get up all kinds of things. In this story, it is Poppy's party and together with all her friends they have a truly English birthday party, with cakes and lemonade, traditional games and non stop trouble. Keep hold of our little story books and dresses to match, the next generation will enjoy them just as much. With the help of polit publishing we are now on our second edition of birthday bash, there is also one called Poppy and Fred go to see the sea, with 2 more to follow shortly.

Inside, the bag comes the doll ready to sew and plenty of wadding to stuff her with. She comes with fabric ready cut to make into strips for her hair, which can be glued or stitched. Each kit comes with easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions. Her dress comes cut out and ready to sew and with a sash to tie around her waist. This is a beautiful dress and the older children get the more they enjoy swishing about and making it twirl. Buttons on the bodice means it opens up to slip on and the straps are made long so that you can adjust them if need be. The fine cotton voile sewn in petticoat gives the dress a luxurious feel. We have made a few dresses from the Poppy archive in this delightful design. Penny has drawn children from around the world around the border and then written the word peace in lots of languages among the cosmic images. We think it is an inspirational design with a great message. The dresses go really well with our natural knitwear and the unusual colours are printed on unbleached cotton. Our short cardigans are designed to come to the waist so the dresses always show the lovely shape and fullness of the skirt.
