Fabrics

Poppy designs its own fabrics. The 60" wide or 150cm 100% cotton we use is pre-shrunk, washable, fade resistant and free from formaldehyde, so is safe for babies and young children. The cotton will make into bedding, curtains, clothing and accessories and is stable and hardwearing. In the winter season, we use a strong cotton twill, which is strong enough for upholstery but soft and warm for clothing. Bryony has been in charge of all the designs since 2008 and she has drawn the adventures of Poppy and Fred and the little vehicles for Beep Beep. Her drawings are printed onto our special cotton fabric to a high specification and sold by the metre or made into lots of products. We also feature some of the fabrics from the Poppy archive which have never gone out of fashion.
