About Us

We design and print fabrics which we then make into exciting children’s clothing and nursery bedding. Each season we print a fabric that we think is the bees’ knees.

We only use 100% cotton with a long staple which is cool to wear yet warm, durable and so comfortable to wear. 

Our fabrics   feature the adventures of Poppy and her dog Fred which are depicted on the borders running around the hem of each dress.  A little storybook comes with every dress, allowing you to follow the adventures of our favourite characters.   Each season Poppy and Fred have a new exciting adventure and the fabrics and storybook tell the story.

All our fabrics are printed in Lancaster by a large and well respected print works to our very high specification.   Our cotton has be shrink, fade and crease resistant and to wash at 60 degrees.   The dyes have to be formaldehyde free to be safe for babies and the cotton has to be strong and durable so everything we make will last for years and years.

Close to home is the way we like it, so as much of our clothing as possible is made here in the North-East of England. All the left over bits of fabric go into producing make-with-mum kits, purses and other small items so we have very little waste.

Our knitwear this season comes from a lovely family business based in the Himalayan mountains. Our work helps to sustain a way of life in Nepal and provides an income for women who hand knit in their homes. Our warm and cosy sheepskin boot and mitt collection comes from Portugal.

We are very excited to bring you this season’s collection, and hope you will enjoy it. Poppy is a small but busy family business – we care very much what you think, so all feedback is welcome.
